Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Sophie M. Pelley of St. John's; formerly of Carbonear, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Gertrude; brothers: Arthur, Silas, Wilbert 'Bill', Malcolm, Frank and sister: Rose Joseph. Left to mourn, one brother: Edward Pelley, Carbonear; three sisters: Florence 'Floss' Butt Kitchener, ON, Annie (Clifford) Garland and Jean Clarke, both of Carbonear; sister-in-law: Grace Pelley, Corner Brook; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Ben Welshman conducted the Funeral service on Saturday, September 4 at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment was in the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Carbonear.
