Prest-Holman, Kathleen Audrey – 84, Upper Stewiacke, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2009. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Annie (Fancy) Dean.
For several years, she was organist in Springside United Church. She was well known in the community for feeding her band of raccoons and other wild life. Her door was always open to family and friends, and many enjoyed a cup of tea and a tune on the piano.
Surviving are sons, Roderick (Julia), Upper Stewiacke; Bob (C.J.), Bible Hill; daughter-in-law, Debbie Prest, Eastville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Percy) Cox, Murray Siding; sister-in-law, Margaret Dean, Dean; special friends, Esther Higgins, Debby and Mac Cox. She was predeceased by her first husband, Homer Prest; second husband, Earl Holman; son, Cecil; grandson, Robert; brothers, Earl and Reuben; sisters, Ruth and Thelma.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m., both in Springside United Church, Upper Stewiacke, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Springside United Church.
