ILA ANDERSON

Ila Elizabeth (Lightbody) Anderson was born on July 8, 1913 in Bateman, SK, where she lived for 15 years. She lived 40 years near Coderre, 39 years in Moose Jaw and 3 years in Regina. She was predeceased by parents Matthew and Nellie; husband Alexander Norman Anderson (1963); brothers William (infant), Earl (Sybil) and Allan (Ruth); brother-in-law Eldon (Maisie) Anderson; infant daughter (1945) and son Gordon (2001). She is survived by her daughters: Norma (Bill) Trim and Dona Buchberger and daughter-in-law Patsy Anderson; grandchildren: Chris, Sue, Jerry, Betty, Trent, Steven, Don, Maureen, Audrey, Glenn, Eleanor, Randy, and Margaret; great-grandchildren: Chantelle, Aaron, Michael, Joel, Tony, Anya, Zachary, Kelsey, Brenan, Tamara, Breanne, Nicole, Jonathon and Renee; great-great-grandchildren: Tiarra, Avery, Isaiah and Jaxson; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Ila was proud of her parent's pioneer background. She was a hardworking farmer, an avid gardener, a devoted homemaker, a loving caregiver and a lifelong active member of her church. She was unrelenting in doing handwork for her family, friends, and the health district into her 96th year. Ila celebrated her 97th birthday in Moose Jaw and in Regina (Sunset Extendicare) with friends and family. After a short illness, Ila went home to her Lord, on September 5, 2010. Visitation Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel, Gravelbourg, SK. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in Coderre Community Centre, Coderre, SK. Interment Grace United Church Cemetery.
