Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her heartbroken family, at the Dr. L.A. Miller Center P.C.U. on September 6, 2010, after a short battle with cancer, Mary Ethel Noseworthy (daughter of the late Herbert and Isabel Boone), in her 83rd year. She has gone to join her beloved husband of 62 years, Edward, who passed away January 5, 2009. Not only an outstanding and doting wife and mother, Mary was a gracious, generous hostess and her home was the destination of choice for all extended family members and friends who had to visit St. John's for varying time periods, whether for business meeting or university semester. For 21 years, she also found the time to provide all office support for Edward's Imperial Oil furnace oil delivery business. She is survived by her two loving children, son Gerald (Jerry) (Margaret), Halifax, NS and daughter Glenda (Christopher Spencer), Belleville, Ont., five precious grandchildren: Devin (Joanne), Robin (Heather) Noseworthy, Matthew (Rebecca), Andrew (Melissa) and Caitlin Spencer; two greatly loved great-grandchildren: Emily and Cole Noseworthy; sisters: Edith Hiller, Rita (Charles) Sturge and Betty (David) Thorne, London, ON; brother-in-law Gordon (Minnie), Halifax, NS and sisters-in-law: Dorothy, Whitbourne, NL and Gwen Noseworthy, St. David's, NL and a large circle of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Clare's 6 South and Dr. L.A. Miller Center P.C.U. for their thoughtful care and kindness in Mom's time of need. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Service to be held from The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
