LITTLE HARBOUR – Lewis E. (Lew) Imlay, age 55 of Little Harbour, passed away June 1, 2009 at Little Harbour.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Sanford and Mary (Chisholm) Imlay.
Lew spent his early years in Eureka and Westville moving to Little Harbour in 1993. He was a former miner draegerman and heavy equipment operator with Pioneer Coal and was presently employed with Ligni Bel Lumber Co. in Scotsburn. Lew loved the outdoors, fishing and especially hunting with the bow. He was a member of the Little Harbour dart club. He enjoyed woodworking and the family have many cherished items that are evident of his fine craftsmanship.
“Pup†as he was affectionately known by the family will be greatly missed by daughters, Lisa (John) Lloyd, Stewiacke; Leslie Cottie, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Dorothy MacLeod, Little Harbour and her daughter, Leanne Davis, Toronto; grandchildren: Erin, Andy, Colt, Tyler, Brandin, Jennifer, and Alanna; special niece, Colleen, Halifax; other survivors include his brother, Stewart, Westville; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet in August 2008; and a brother, John.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joanne Vines officiating. Burial will be in Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour.
Donations in his memory may be made to Church Brook Cemetery or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
