RESZEL – Brenda Aline, aged 46 years, of Lloydminster, AB, parted this life at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton on April 30, 2009. Following cremation, a beautiful memorial service was held May 6, 2009, at The Word Church in Lloydminster, officiated by Pastor Linda Bounds. Brenda was born to Roy and Yvonne Myers on March 14, 1963. She started school in Shaunavon, SK, and began secondary school in Swift Current, SK, where the family had relocated in 1973. She resided in several communities including Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Willingdon where the couple operated Reszel’s General Store. The family moved to Rainbow Lake in 1998 and transferred in 2003 to Lloydminster where Angus is employed by Husky Oil. Brenda loved the outdoors, camping, quadding, dirt biking and snowmobiling. She enjoyed crafts and excelled at cross-stitch. A devoted wife and mother, Brenda adored her husband, her children, her dogs, her extended family and her many valued friends. The diagnosis of Scleroderma in late 2000 saw a steady deterioration in Brenda’s health. In October 2006, she received a lung transplant which gave her a new lease on life. Her determined strength throughout her many challenges has been most inspirational to others. Brenda will be cherished in memory by her loving husband, Angus; daughter Jennifer (Andre) Workman; son, Craig; her mother, Yvonne Myers; as well as father & mother-in-law, John and Madeline Reszel; two brothers, Chuck (Colleen) Myers and Ken (Angela) Myers; two sisters, Laura (Tracy) Gardiner and Louise (Vincent) Behm, as well as two sisters-in-law, Penny Reszel (Liz) and Bonnie Reszel (Neil). She will also be sadly missed by grandmother, Elma Diemert Fritz, five nieces, two nephews, two great nieces, one great nephew, a large extended family, many good friends and her Great Dane, “Karma”. She was predeceased by her father, Roy (1984), grandparents Leo Diemert (1977), Norman Myers (1979), and Elva Myers (1981). Inurnment took place along side her father at Memory Gardens in Swift Current, SK, on May 16, 2009.
