It is with profound sadness that we, the family, announce the death of our dear mother, Clothilda Rose Fraser at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, on Sept. 10, 2010.
Born in Low Point, Victoria Mines, she was a daughter of the late William and Agnes (Carroll) White.
Mom was a homemaker most of her married life, who brought up a large family who loved her dearly. Mom was always there for her children and grandchildren. She possessed a great positive attitude and spirit and was a very quiet and kind person.
She is survived by daughters, Charlotte Fraser, Moncton, N.B., Marilyn (Albert) Gibbons, Huntington, N.S., Carole Carrigan, New Waterford, Patricia Gardiner, Lingan; sons, David Fraser, New Waterford, John (Ann) Fraser, Grand Bay, N.B.; grandchildren, Debbie, Charlene, Margaret, Carol Ann, Caleb, Kimberlea, Curtis, Kimberley, Daniel, Raymond, Sean, Tyler, Tiffany, Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Ashley, Connor, Shannon, Jack Dempsey, Benjamin, Anthony, Jacob, Cara, Carter, Liam, Kayla, Nicholas and Emily.
Clothilda was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stewart Murdock Fraser, daughter, Marjorie Podgurski, son, Henry Fraser, grandson, Glenn Podgurski, sisters, Dora, Ella, Susan, Remigus, Margaret 'Peg', Alice, Gertrude, Bridget and Evelyn, brothers, George, Stanley and William, sons-in-law, John Gardiner and Joe Podgurski, and daughter-in-law, Marie (Kearney).
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at 3 p.m. in Calvin United Church with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, with a luncheon to follow at Calvin Hall, New Waterford. Clothilda's remains will be taken to the church at noon, Monday.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
