ATKINSON, C. ELEANOR – 67, of West Brook, Cumberland Co. passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late John and Veronica (MacLean) MacKinnon. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) having worked in Truro, Ontario, Halifax and finally throughout Cumberland County until her illness in the fall of 2008. She was a loving wife, mother and was an especially proud grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Russell; daughter, Jenna Villemaire (Martin), Banff, AB; sons, Blair, Banff, AB; David (Katie), West Brook; sisters, Theresa MacDonald, Port Colburne, ON.; Pauline Finlayson, Don Mills, ON.; Barbara MacNeil, Sydney; Priscella O’Toole, North Sydney; Rosemary Poirier (Conrad), Antigonish; Vera Carey (Richard), Victoria, BC; Sarah MacVicar, Madrid, Spain; granddaughters, Olivia and Anika Villemaire, Banff, AB; Kensie Atkinson, West Brook; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosamond; brother, Aloysious. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Brigid’s Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father David MacDonald officiating. Burial in the West Brook Cemetery.
