It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother, Arthur George Francis, age 46, on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Port Aux Basques, Nfld., he was the son of Arthur and Nellie (Anderson) Francis, North Sydney. He was a hard worker and at the time of his death was employed with Polysteel Atlantic Ltd., Point Edward. A devout family man, he was a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife Sonja (Bishop) Francis, his daughter Heather Francis (Josh Rahey), North Sydney, his son Arthur James Francis (Katie Sampson), North Sydney, also surviving is his grandmother Suzanna Anderson, North Sydney; his grandchildren Haley (Maggie Mae) and Nathan (Trooper) Rahey, Kyla (Sourpuss) Francis; his brothers Glen Francis, Japan and Derek (Carol Ann) Francis, North Sydney; his sister Sue Ann Bernon (Jason), Halifax; brothers-in-law Donald Bishop (Donna Grover), Sydney, Joseph (Linda) Bishop, Georges River, Billy Bishop, Toronto, John Bishop (Marge), Toronto and Christopher (Kim) Bishop, Toronto; sisters-in-law Shaunay Sibley, Toronto and Donna Bishop, Toronto, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother-in-law Michael Bishop.
Visitation for Arthur will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service to be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Deacon Don McCullough officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
