BUTLER, Dorothy (nee Shave)– Retired R.N.A. of Bell Island, passed peacefully away at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, Dorothy Butler, aged 82 years. Predeceased by husband Albert (1987); parents Nelson and Esther Shave of Bell Island; sisters Ruby Young, Joan Bellows and Ethel Mason. Left with fond and loving memories are son Ken (Mary); daughter Diane (Don); two loving grandchildren David and Dayna of Kelligrews; brother Charlie (Val) of Lake Cowichan, B.C.; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including her good friends and staff of Meadow Creek Retirement Centre. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., and will resume at Pendergast Funeral Home, Bell Island on Thursday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Bell Island, on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Old Anglican Cemetery, Bell Island.
