Marguerite (nee Quickfall) Clarke
Clarke, Marguerite (Nee Quickfall) of Bible Hill, NS, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was born in Coleville, Saskatchewan. When she was four years old the family moved to Waterloo, Ontario. After graduation from Kitchener & Waterloo Collegrate, she spent five years as an office secretary before attending Toronto Bible College (Now Tyndale Bible College) graduating in 1943. Following a year in Upper Canada Bookstore in Toronto, she spent fifteen years as Home Missionary with the Presbyterian Mission Board in the Western Provinces. She married Rev. A. James Clarke in 1959, serving together in Western Provinces and Nova Scotia. At the time of her passing, she belonged to St. James Presbyterian Church where she was an active member for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Stella and her stepson Raymond, as well as a very special circle of friends.
She will be remembered for her sense of humour, her strong commitment to her faith, and her kindness to many.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation by family request. Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 20th, at 11:00 am in Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro with Dr. Brian Ross officiating. A reception will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society, any Christian Charity or charity of choice.
