HELEN M Anderson (nee Mattson) passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2009 at the age of 83 years, family at her side. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Grant (2002) and siblings Edna, Raymond, Morris, Kenneth and Mabel. She leaves behind her sisters May and Lillian, sisters-in-law, Eilleen Mattson and Pat Anderson; her two sons Del (Bev) - Moose Jaw, Ken (Debbie) - Granum AB, daughter Penny (Don) – Regina; grandchildren: Stacey (Mike) - Cochrane AB, Derek (Carrie ) - Cochrane, AB, Tisha - Regina, Jock – Brooks, AB; great-grandchildren, Jade, Kali, Macyn, JR and Mattie; many nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was born on December 21, 1925 in Cabri, Saskatchewan and married Grant in Moose Jaw on February 2, 1949. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and her love of dancing, playing cards, going to Grey Cup games and curling. She was a “great” grandma. We love you and will miss you. In keeping with Helen’s wish, there will be no funeral service. Following cremation, a Graveside Service will be held at Rosedale Cemetery on Monday June 8, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Those wishing to attend may meet at the Cemetery gate at 1:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Fire Fighters Burn Fund, Box 244, Regina Sask. S4P 2L6, or to the Canadian Cancer, 61B Ross ST.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Helen, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
