NORMORE, Gerald W.– 1934-2008. Passed peacefully away on October 6th, 2008 after a lengthy illness, Gerald W. Normore. Gerald was an Assistant Chief of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, a member of Clift Lodge No. 10 Grand Lodge of Newfoundland and Labrador and a member of Mazol Shriner’s, an organization to which he gave freely of his time and talent. Gerald left this world a better place and has left his devoted wife Cavell (Bennett) and daughter Geraldine with many wonderful memories. To remember him are brother Angus; his sister Pearl Power and sister Sandra Meaney (Dennis); his sisters-in-law: Nora Perham (Charles), Hilda Langthorne, Emma Parent and Lydia Bennett; brothers-in-law: Donald Bennett (Joan), David Bennett (Gloria), Frank Bennett (Mary), Walter Bennett (Pauline); also a large circle of family and friends. At Gerald’s request cremation has taken place. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 from 2 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, October 10th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Wesley United Church. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, contributions in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Mazol Shriner’s Patient Transportation Fund.
