It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our mother, sister, and aunt Rita MacPherson, 61 of New Waterford on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at her home.
Born in and raised in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Myrtle (Stagg) MacPherson.
Rita was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Waterford. She was an avid George Jones fan and loved listening to his music. Rita was well known for her impeccable cleaning and her always spotless home. Rita enjoyed her many trips to Ontario visiting with her family. Rita loved camping, especially the nights sitting around the campfire.
Rita leaves to mourn her passing her loving sons, Kenneth (Sylvie), Angione, Mississauga, Ont., Michael Angione, New Waterford; her sisters, Theresa (Greg) White, Chris (Teddy) George, both of New Waterford, Carmel Timmons St. Catharines, Ont., and Lorraine Burke, Kitchener, Ont.; brothers, Joe D. (Norma), New Waterford, Vince (Shirley), Sydney. She will also be missed by her loving grandchildren, Michael, Sheena; a very special granddaughter, Emily; as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Rita was predeceased by her father and mother.
Visitation will take place this evening (Monday, June 8), from 7-9 p.m. in McLellan Brothers Funeral Home Ltd., 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500. A Mass of Celebration for Rita will take place Tuesday, June 9 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Waterford, with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow and interment will be later in St. Michael’s Cemetery, River Ryan.
