James Dempsey
James Dempsey of Tracy, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 21, 2010 at the age of 83. James was a member of St Columba Catholic Church and was a Veteran of World War II with the US Navy. After the war James was at truck driver for Triple M. In 1959 he started hunting with a guide in the Tracy area and when he retired from trucking in 1976 he moved his family to Tracy. There he continued driving truck and school bus for district 17 for 10 years before retiring again. He loved hunting and fishing and was a great guide to many people. James is survived by two daughters; Mary Ann Johnson Fredericton Junction, Kathleen Russell (Charlie), Tracy, three sons; James Dempsey (Gail) Tracy, Micheal Dempsey (Patti) Tracy, Jack Dempsey (Carla) Pennsylvania, USA. Two brothers; Patrick Dempsey (Florence) Virgina, USA. Lawrence Dempsey (Theadora) Georgia, USA, one Brother-in-Law, Joseph Gallick (Dorothy) New Jersey, USA, seven grandchildren; Laura Sommerville (Lonnie), Shawn Dempsey, Jennifer Dempsey (Kyle Fergerson), Scott Russell (Kelly), Gregory Dempsey, Shayne Russell, Gage Dempsey two great-grandchildren; Madison and Katie Rose Sommerville, several nieces & nephews.
James is predeceased by his wife, Mary Gloria (Gallick) Dempsey, his parents Anna (Williams) and James Dempsey and one brother Robert Dempsey.
Visitations will be at Sunbury Funeral Home, Thursday, September 23, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be from St Columba Catholic Church on September 24, 2010 at 2pm with the Father Mark Trzop officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Columba Catholic Cemetery.
