Retired Constable of the Newfoundland Constabulary. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Harold “Harry” Symonds aged 101 Years. Predeceased by wife: Annie (nee Wiseman 1976); son-in-law: John Ennis (2000); great-grandson: Daniel Furey (2008); parents: George and Annie Symonds; brothers: George, James, Charles, John “Jack”, Arthur; sisters: Grace Durnan, Chrissie Noel and Dorothy (Infant). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons: Arthur (Ethel) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Peter (Lin) of St. John’s; daughter: Rosalind Ennis of Mt. Pearl; grandchildren: William (Kelley) Symonds, Kimberly (Doug) Furey, Lori Ennis and Craig Ennis; great-grandchildren: Kaitlynn Symonds, Alexander Symonds and Laura Furey; sisters-in-law: Rita (Arthur-deceased) Symonds and Caroline (Roy-deceased) Wiseman, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, June 9th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
