The passing of Byron Edward Hunter of Astle, NB, occurred on Monday, September 27, 2010 in Fredericton, NB. Born on February 22, 1937 in Hayesville, NB, he was the son of the late Glendon and Vyetta (Munn) Hunter. Byron was a woodsworker and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. In addition to his partner, Carole Hagerty, Byron is survived by his four daughters, Brenda (Billy) MacLellan, Heather (Brian) Sutherland, Cynthia (Donnie) McGivney all of Fredericton, NB and Anna Marie (Bobby) Welch of New Hamphsire, USA; grandchildren, Robbie (Shelly) and Jonathan Sutherland, Stephen Brown, Jeffrey and Lisa MacLellan; great grandchildren, Tanner and Kristen Sutherland, Matthew and Austen Boone, Stephen Brown and Rylee Roussel; brothers, Wendell (Ellen) Hunter of Astle, NB and Lister (Valerie) Hunter of Fredericton, NB; sisters, Marie (Frederick) Dorcas and Charlene (Murray) Hay all of Williamsburg, NB; chosen children, Robert Hagerty of Mississippi, USA, Patrick Hagerty of Mass. USA, Shelly (Carl) Desjarlais of Rhode Island, USA and their daughter, Hannah, Cindy Kramer of Toronto, ON and Robyn (Philip) Witherell of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his chosen daughter, Jodi Kramer.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Boiestown United Church on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating and Pastor Pat McAloon. Interment will take place in Astle Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Boiestown United Church Building Fund.
