J. Stanley Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stan Smith of Saint John would like to announce his passing at The Saint John Regional Hospital on September 27, 2010. Stan was born in Saint John on September 8, 1927 son of the late Cecil and Minnie (Barrett) Smith. Stan's 40+ year career at Canada Post started as a Railway Mail Clerk and retired as a Supervisor. He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing at the East Long Lake Fishing Club. Stan was also an avid bowler with his beloved wife Theresa. His family is thankful for his life and love, he was a great husband, father and grandfather. Stan is survived by his loving wife Theresa (Durant) Smith, children Dave (Sue), Darlene (Jim) Phillips, Paula (Chris) Nason, Edward (Susan), Paul (Tracy), Tracy Duncan. He is also survived by his grandchildren Angela, Eric, Shelly, Sean, Elizabeth, Danny, Tyler, Devin, Kimmy, Celeste, Chloe, Maddison, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents Stan was predeceased by his brother Ronald.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at The Church of The Resurrection in Grand Bay-Westfield. Interment will be in Ocean View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Church of The Resurrection or to a charity of the donor's choice.
