After a 14 year struggle with emphazema and COPD, Thurman Burns Anderson slipped away peacefully with his wife and children at his side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, on Thursday morning, September 28, 2010. Thurman leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 46 years, Carol (Urquhart) Anderson. Born on March 20, 1942 in Kingsclear, NB, he was the son of the late Burns and Tillie (Regan) Anderson. Second to his family was his love of nature and working in the great outdoors. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, fishing and watching the grandchildren grow. Thurman's family was his life... In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tracy Carol and her husband, Tim Whitlock and their sons, Jordan and Zachary; Tara Lynn and her husband, Alcide Brideau and their sons, Caleb and Cain; son, Troy Burns and his wife, Chrissy and their children, Hunter, Reagan and Casey; he is also survived by six sisters, Mary O'Hara, Winnie Duguay, Lillian Wall, Darlene Goodine, Neat (Linden) Green and Charlotte (Ron) Hay; four brothers, George (Joyce), Melvin (Anne), Millen (Joan) and Kenny (Denise); he was Pappa Thurm to four special little girls, Payton, Mallory, Buchana and Kadence Urquhart; Aunt Juanita (Neat) Regan; several cousins and many special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Thurman was predeceased by his sisters, Flora Douglas, Audrey O'Hara and brother, Ardie Anderson.
At his request, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. Please join us for a light hearted celebration of his life at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made in Thurman's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Taymouth Community Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
