Emerson Hennigar
(December 2, 1920 - September 27, 2010) - Emerson Wilson Hennigar, beloved husband of Muriel, passed away at his home on September 27, 2010. He was born in Grand Falls on December 2, 1920 to Grace and Alfred Hennigar. He is survived by two daughters Wendy of Plaster Rock and Ruth of San Jose, California, an aunt Mrs Peggy Sommerville, brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Gail, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins. Emerson served in the Air Force during World War II and was employed by Agriculture Canada for many years. Emerson was dedicated to his community and his church. He was a charter Member of the Tobique Lions, Royal Canadian Legion, served in various capacities within St. Andrews United and was always ready to volunteer when help was needed. He made friends where ever he went and welcomed them warmly into his family circle. He treasured his family, thrived being outside enjoying nature and loved a good meal. While we will miss him dearly he has enjoyed a life well lived.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Visiting will be from 1 to 2:30 pm followed by a service at 2:30 pm conducted by Rev. Steve Longmoore, assisted by Rev. Judith Hare. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Remembrances may be made to St. Andrews United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
