SCHRADER - Katherine “Katie” A. (nee McKinnon) was born in Heward, SK on March 11, 1932 and passed away at the Victoria Hospital on June 5, 2009 with her family by her side. Katie had a great passion for her garden and flowers and also a great love for bingo and the casino. She loved to visit over a cup of coffee with friends and neighbors and enjoyed playing cards, picking berries, baking and also canning. Katie was a great cook. Katie was loved and will be missed very much. She is survived by her husband Reg; her children Ruth Ethier of Nanaimo, BC, Rick (Kathleen) Bacon of Prince Albert, Keith (Sharon) Bacon of Prince Albert, Ella (Stan) Kotelko of Martensville and Calvin (Barb) Schrader of Kingston, ON; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters Irene Archibald, Ruby Smith, Florance Keir and Donna Christensen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Monty in October 2006; her parents Robert and Agnes McKinnon and her sisters Evelyn Linfitt, Edna Szopko and Jean Riddle. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Grace Mennonite Church, 250 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Tony Thompson officiating.
