The passing of Charles "Simon" Lavallin Puxley of Fredericton, NB, husband of Eleanor (Dunlap) Puxley occurred on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Quebec City, QC, he was the son of the late Robert and Dora (Lloyd) Puxley. Simon was raised in Hudson Heights, Quebec. He was a career member of the Armed Forces, retiring in 1975. Simon moved to Scotch Lake, where he realized his dream of running a hobby farm, for the best twenty years of his life. He loved walking his German Shepherds, cross country skiing and swimming with the Silver Dolphins. His passion was bicycling and he enjoyed biking with the Folks on Spokes for a number of years. Simon will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. In addition to his wife, Eleanor, he is survived by his sisters, Ann Hurd (Allan) of Kemptville, ON and Shelah Kent (the late Colin Kent) of Calgary, AB; a niece and several nephews; special friend, Laura Balakrishnan.
A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating and Father Monte Peters assisting. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, Fredericton Chapter of the Parkinson Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
