It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Ralph at the home of his youngest son, Todd, in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, on Saturday, June 6th, 2009, at the age of 75. Ralph was born in McKay’s, NL, on September 20, 1933 to Peter and Amanda (Brake) McKay. Ralph is survived by his second wife, Ruby (Rilea) and his children: Anthony (Rennie) of Ardrossan, AB, Richard (Zona) of Hamilton, ON, Tracey (Peter) Ormiston of Yellowknife, NT, Todd (Karen) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; his stepson, Troy (Jeannette) Rilea of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren: Adam (Rosie), Nathanael (Jennifer), Benjamin (Cheryl), Shilo, Kayla, Lindsey, Kyle, Brandon and David; step-grandsons: Travis and Kenton; great-grandchildren: Brianna, Damon, Faolan, Rosheen and Liam; his sisters: Grace Oakley, Bedford, NS, Ethel Gale, McKay’s, NL, Amy Snow, Corner Brook, NL and Lorna (Bernard) Hayward, Port Elgin, ON. Ralph was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Joan (Butt) of Heatherton, NL; brother, Ross (Mildred) of McKay’s, NL; and sister, Stella Leadbetter (Grant) of Oxford, NS. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. from Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville with interment in the Nondenominational Cemetery in St. George’s. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Daffodil House, c/o Canadian Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated.
