Ian Ellis Smith, passed away Oct. 13, 2010 at his home in Whycocomagh.
Born in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, Ian was the son of the late Belle (MacDonald) and Norman Smith.
He was a member of Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Ian, our father/brother loved plants and also loved music. He cherished his daily calls to his beloved family and believed there was always time for a good laugh.
Ian is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Bennett (Shayne) and Angela Nicole Donna Smith, both of Sydney; his brothers, Henry (Sylvia), Walter and Leonard (Edna); and sisters, Donna Zurel, Marcella Roberts, Patricia Bradley (James) and Carol Smith; grandchildren, Shyla Marie Bennett and Connor Shayne Bennett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Annabelle Smith.
Besides his parents, Ian was predeceased by sister, Anna Norma Marks and brother, Selby Kenneth Smith.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, North River, the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cameron Brett officiating. Burial will be in Goose Cove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or charity of one's choice.
