Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit on Friday, June 12, 2009. Catherine Hawkins of Witless Bay, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Henry (1999), sister Dorothy Adams (2005) and son-in-law Ron Walsh (2003). Leaving to mourn three sisters: Violet Williams, Ellen Cotton and Marjorie Lundrigan of Boston. Sons: Willie (Veronica), Cape Broyle and Tom (Patsy) St. John’s. Daughters: Margaret (Bob); Irene (Jim), St. John’s; and Josephine (Angus), Witless Bay. Nineteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Saturday, June 13, from 5-9 p.m., Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s RC Church, Witless Bay. Interment to follow at Holy Cross RC Cemetery, Witless Bay.
