Gertrude Shephard
Gertrude A. Shephard of Temperance Vale, NB passed away October 16, 2010 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Gertrude was born at Blue Bell, Victoria County, NB in 1929, a daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Michaud) LeBel. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Southampton Branch 27, the Nackawic Curling Club and supported the work of the Temperance Vale Community Hall. She enjoyed bingo and cooking for her family and was an avid sports fan of baseball and hockey. Gertrude is survived by her three sons, Robert Shephard (Susan Cyr), Grand Falls, NB, Paul Shephard (Delilah), Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland and Allen Shephard, New Westminster, BC; her grandchildren, Joey Shephard, Ricky Shephard, Matthew Shephard (Jana), Samantha-Ann Shephard, Rebecca Shephard and Mackenzie Shephard; her great granddaughters, Emily and Isabella Shephard; a sister, Claudette LeBel, Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, NB; a brother, Reg LeBel, Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Vincent P. Shephard in 1997, two sons, Terry and infant Ronald William, an infant daughter, Patricia Ann and two brothers, Maurice LeBel and infant Lucien.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Otis Drive, Nackawic on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. by Father John Keoughan. Interment will follow at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery.
