It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Roderick ‘Billy’ Arsenault, 59, of 33 Roost St., who passed away, his family by his side, on Saturday, June 13, 2009, after a long battle with liver disease.
Billy was a son of the late Michael Bernard and Dorothy (Reynolds) Arsenault.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bernadette (MacKenzie) Arsenault; three children, Lori Arsenault (daddy’s precious angel), at home, Roger (Elisha) and J.B.(Amanda), both of Glace Bay; four wonderful grandchildren, Desiree, Riley, Makaila and Nicole; brothers, Raymond (Mary) and Greg (Judy), both of Glace Bay; sister, Mary McLean, Sydney; along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Joey, Allan and Michael ‘Butch’ and sister, Elsie Devison.
We, the family, would like to thank the Halifax nursing staff and Glace Bay nursing staff for all their help and concern with his battling disease; those especially of 3rd west wing and palliative care nurses, Tammy, Natalie and Bernadette. Special thank you to Dr. Cadegan and Dr. Peltekian for their sincere care.
Visitation for Billy will be held in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. in St. Leo’s Church.
Donations in Billy’s memory are suggested to the Liver Foundation.
