It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother Kevin at home on Oct. 16, 2010.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Coloumbe) Parsons.
In his earlier years, he was a merchant seaman and was employed by the S.I.U. (Montreal). Upon his return to Cape Breton he worked for 30 years with the Nova Scotia Commission on Drug Dependency for Addiction Services in Sydney as a counsellor attendant. He also worked at Park House and at detox until his retirement.
Kevin is survived by his sisters, Annette Smith, Dartmouth, and Genevieve Parsons, Glace Bay, also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Isabel Casey and Bertha Miller, brothers Donald and Joseph.
In keeping with Kevin's wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Kevin's life will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at St. Anthony's Church in Glace Bay. Burial in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Talbot House or charity of ones choice.
