TRENTON - Harvey Alfred Mitchell Sr., age 91, of Dickie Street, Trenton, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at home.
Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late Harvey and Isabel (Burns) Mitchell.
He was retired from the Tool Room at Hawker Siddeley, prior to which he was a long haul truck driver for many years. He served with the Army during the Second World War. He enjoyed his daily visits to the mall. He was a former member of the Trenton Fire Dept.
He is survived by daughter: Betty Ann (Mel) Cameron, Linacy; son, Harvey (Shirley), Trenton; grandchildren: Kathy (Clyde); Roddie (Bertha); Marsha (Adam); Wanda; Wendy (Dennis); five great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose (George) Ross, Trenton; Betty Milne, Woodburn.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Josephine (Murray); sisters: Velma Forshner; Donelda Fox and Reta Sinclair; brothers: Burns "Bud" and Lauchie.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton, from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Mr. Fergie MacKay officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
