Margaret (Savage) Lyons of Millbank, wife of the late George R. Lyons, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 at the age of 89 at the Miramichi Hospital. Born in Russellville, N.B. she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Charlotte Savage (nee Arsenault) Margaret was a veteran of WWII with CWAC and served overseas. She will be sadly missed by her children Gloria Duncan (Bill) of Keswick, Ontario, Lourdes Lyons of Millbank, Rosemary McFarlane (Frank) of Miramichi, and George E. Lyons of Lower Newcastle, five Grandchildren, Jennifer and Rebecca Duncan, Jodie Elliot and David and Laura McFarlane, and great-granddaughter Kassidy Elliot, three sisters, Cecelia Anderson and Rita Patterson (Miramichi),Frances Kenny of Tabusintac, one brother Bernard Savage (Stella) of Russellville, one special niece Diane (Savage) Trevors, three sisters-in-law, Tessie Davis of Miramichi, Kay Keating of St. John and Clara Savage of Russellville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Rosie (Donnie) Kingston, Kathleen Savage, brothers James and Frederick Savage, granddaughter Stacie McFarlane and daughter-in-law Michelle Lyons.
As an expression of sympathy contributions to the All Saints Cemetery Fund, the Palliative Care Unit of Miramichi Hospital or a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held at Maher's Funeral Home, Miramichi, Thursday, October 21st 7 to 9 PM, Friday, October 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at All Saints Catholic Church Millbank at 11:00 AM with Rev. Leon Creamer officiating.
