Yvonne Marie LeFort, 84, of Cheticamp, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Foyer Pere Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp.
Born in Cheticamp, she was the daughter of the late Auguste and Helene (Chiasson) LeBlanc.
Yvonne dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She had a very positive outlook on life.
She always loved to cook. God must have needed her in heaven to cook fricot and meat pies for himself and all his angels.
She is survived by seven sons, Raymond (Colette), Sydney, Daniel (Yvonne), Leonard (Gloria), Angus (Carmel), all of Cheticamp, Roland (Amy), Fort McMurray, Eric (Barbara), Whycocomagh, and David, Edmonton, Alta.; three daughters, Irma (Richard) McGuinness, Portland, Me., Linda (Gord) Wiebe, Edmonton, Albertine Payne, Ottawa; one sister, Marguerite Lahey, Sydney; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patsy LeFort, seven brothers, Edmond LeBlanc, Severin LeBlanc, Joseph LeBlanc, Padde John LeBlanc, Willie LeBlanc, Dave LeBlanc and Albert LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Cheticamp Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Cheticamp, with Fr. Peter LeBlanc officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
