Rita LeBlanc

Rita LeBlanc

91, wife of the late Fred LeBlanc of Moncton, passed away on Friday October 22, 2010 at Serenacare Residence in Moncton. She died peacefully and was surrounded by her loving family. Born September 5, 1919 in Saint-Antoine, NB, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Alice (Léger) Cormier. Mom was a very gentle and sociable person who always had a smile on her face. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a stay-at-home mom who worked hard to bring up her eight children, often in difficult times. She did a lot of sewing during those years and was known as an excellent cook. No one made homemade bread as good as our Mom. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren who she adored. She will be sadly missed by her seven children: Marie-May (Jean-Pierre Roy) of Ste-Foy, Québec, Claudette (Roger Melanson) of Moncton, Paul (Gilberte "Gibby") of Dieppe, Jeannette (Don Peterson) of Dieppe, Lucille (Roland Hache) of Moncton, Jacqueline (Claude LeBlanc) of Moncton and Denise (Charles Boudreau) of Dieppe; two sisters: Edmée (Maurice Lainesse) of Michigan and Léona (late Donald) of Vancouver; two brothers: Zoël (late Bertha) of Saint-Antoine and Raymond (Viola) of Cocagne; 15 grandchildren: Chantal, Dominique, Martin, Jean-Philippe, Renelle, Kristian, Stéphanie, Paul, Jennifer, Colin, Julien, Marco, Annie, Sophie and Émilie; 10 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by a son, Donald, a sister, Stella and six brothers: Gérard, Léonide, Noël, Aurèle, Éric and Eddy.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation at the funeral home during the days preceding and on the day of the funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church (Parkton) in Moncton on Monday October 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In memory of Rita, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
We would like to express a very sincere thank you to the staff of the Lefurgey Special Care Home as well as the Serenacare Residence for the quality and personalized care that she received throughout the years. A special "thank you" to our sister Marie-May and Jean-Pierre for the loving care provided over three years.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Moncton (858-1900).
