TRENTON - It is with great sadness the family of Colin Earle announce his sudden passing at home on October 24, 2010.
Born in Pictou on October 23, 1947, he was a son of the late Clarence and Jean (Ross) Earle.
He is survived by his companion, Junie Mingo, Trenton; daughter, Rebecca (Shawn) MacKay; grandsons, Nolan and Seamus, Halifax; siblings: Mary (Jerry) Bourgeois; Michael; Chris (Dave) Mackinnon; Dennis (Caron); Margaret; several nieces and nephews.
He was an employee of Trenton Works for 36 years. He was a member and Past Master of Doric Masonic Lodge No. 91, member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29, very active in his union, the Labour Council, and was quite involved in the Day of Mourning held each year in Trenton, NS.
Colin will be remembered for his hats, genealogy, painting, poetry, cooking, kite flying and the love of his family, especially his only daughter, Rebecca.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday in the ADE Tri-Lodge, Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brain Injury Association of N.S., the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
Doric Masonic Lodge No. 91 will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to conduct their service.
