1920 - 2010 - It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Cronin announces his passing at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on October 24, 2010. Born in Bath, NB, on October 22, 1920, he was the son of the late John and Susan (Boyd) Cronin. Frank leaves behind his daughter Connie Conrod (Burton) of Baddeck Inlet, NS; his sons Peter Cronin (Anne Cyr) of Fredericton, Noel Cronin (Shelley) of Calgary, AB; sisters Marie Foley of Boston, Mass, Kathleen Newell of Ottawa, ON; brother Walter Cronin of Mississauga, ON; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Monica Cronin (Ryan); sister Irene Keenan; brothers Dan and Vincent Cronin. Frank operated International Harvester and Volkswagen dealerships in Perth-Andover and was a well known businessman in Victoria County. After his retirement in 1977, he went to work for McCain Foods until 1985. Frank was a founding member of the Valley Horse and Saddle Club, the first curling club in the area, a past member of the Hotel Dieu Hospital Board, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and was an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed horses and the people involved with them, being an enthusiastic participant and volunteer at local horse shows for over 60 years. Frank dearly loved his family and was happiest when spending time with them. He was closely involved in the activities of his grandchildren.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11 am from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in Johnville. Donations in Frank's memory can be made to the Valley Horse and Saddle Club, St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, or to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
