Robert "Quincy" Caldwell

Rev. Robert Quincy Caldwell passed away peacefully at Miramichi Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, on Monday October 25th, 2010. Quincy was the youngest son of the late Major J. Archibald and Marguerite (MacLeod) Caldwell. He is survived by his daughter Roberta, sons Evert, Russell, and Curtis from his marriage to Mary Elaine Clarkson, (predeceased) Sydney Mines; He is also survived by daughter-in-law Kathy and granddaughter Keely, Birmingham, Alabama; granddaughter Alyssia, Moncton, New Brunswick; Brothers, Dr. Malcolm (Lois) Merrickville, Ontario; James (Joan) Sydney Mines; sister-in-law, June, Ottawa, Ontario and Jean of Halifax, Nova Scotia; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dr. A Lloyd (Jean), Halifax, George (June), and a sister, Georgia, in her infancy. Quincy graduated from Sydney Mines High; Acadia University, B.A.; Westminster Theological Seminary B.D., Philadelphia, PA. Quincy was a minister of the gospel and served congregations in Birmingham, Alabama; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Ontario; New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. In 1992 Quincy was the Moderator of the Associated Presbyterian Church of Canada, Scotland, and Australia. He was the founding pastor of Sovereign Grace Presbyterian congregation, P.C.A. in River Denys and Antigonish.
The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 2 PM with Rev Roger Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Presbyterian Cemetery. As expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home or the Covenant Reform Presbyterian Church.
