It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Ann Whalen (Sheppard) announce her passing at the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's, on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the age of 45 years. She will be sadly missed by her common-law husband, Bob; three sons: Leon, Perry Junior and Michael; her father, Austin Sheppard of Stephenville; three brothers: Carl (Carolyn) Sheppard of Guelph, Ontario, Edward (Tammy) Sheppard of Barrie, Ontario and Melvin (Charlene) Sheppard of Acton, Ontario; two sisters: Glenda Sheppard (Darlene Ellis) of Barrie, Ontario and Rhonda (John) Hardy of Stephenville and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Ethel Sheppard. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Parish, West Street, Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
