Cheryl Ann Dicks, 64, formerly of South Bar, went home, into the arms of God, on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in South Bar, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Emma (Rutherford) Quinn.
Wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her, Cheryl will be greatly missed and always loved by every life she touched.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Lloyd; children, Dawn (Roland) Kassermelli, Brooklin, Ont. and Blaine (Lisa) Dicks, Northside East Bay; grandson, Isaiah Kassermelli, who was the apple of her eye; sisters, Jo Ann (John) Quinn, Sydney and Sylvia Green, Halifax; brothers, Steve (Donna), Kingston, Ont., Stuart and Philip, South Bar; sisters-in-law, Carol Quinn, Calgary, Jessie (Joe) Lackie, Halifax and Rosie Desveaux, Karen (Richard) Brandon and Jean (Walter) Oakley, Sydney; brothers-in-law, George (Margie) Dicks, Winnipeg, Jimmy Dicks, Sydney and Sam (Eva) Dicks, Oshawa, Ont.; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her little buddy, Blue, whom she worshiped.
Cheryl was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Brent, sister-in-law, Gladys Furlotte, brothers-in-law, Melvin Green and Alphonse Desveaux, and former sister-in-law, Catherine Dicks.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at St. Theresa Church on Friday 10 a. m., with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Family flowers only. Memorials may be made to Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
