It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our mother, Margaret Mash, 77, of Forrest Street, Sydney Mines, on June 15, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Lancashire, England, on March 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Roger and Beatrice (Hill) Rigby she came to Canada at the age of seven.
Margaret was a member of Trinity Anglican Church. When she was well she enjoyed planting her flowers, watching the Kentucky Derby and she had a great love for her dogs, Beau and Jack, but most of all, she loved family to visit. She will forever be loved and deeply missed.
She is survived by her three daughters, Valerie, Peggy (Jackie) LeRoy, Lorna (Paul) MacLean; her five sons, Lewis (Ann), Derik (Marie), David (Karen), Chris (Debbie) and Wayne (Judy). Also surviving are her daughter-in-law, Laurie; her only sister, Lillian (Gordon Hatcher), whom she loved dearly; her 21 grandchildren and her 16 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Marsh; her son, Barry and son-in-law, Edward ‘Butch’ Russell.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Marsh will be held in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Tobin Road.
