It is with deep sadness that the family of Andrew J. Wright announces his sudden passing on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Andrew was born in Fredericton, NB on May 23, 1990. He lives on in the hearts of all whose lives he has touched. Andrew is survived by many family and friends who loved him, most notably his mother and step-father Louise LaBerge and Jerry LeBlanc, both of Fredericton; his older brother Peter Wright (Amy Miller) - both whom now live in British Columbia; and his father, Murray Wright (Barb) of Lebanon, Ohio. Andrew graduated from Leo Hayes High School in June 2009 and attended St. Thomas University during the 2009-2010 academic year. During the past two summers he worked as a tree planter with JD Irving Ltd. and at Toys R Us during the school year. Andrew was exploring career options as a paramedic and secured two jobs - one with the Delta Fredericton team and another with ComCare Health Services (Patient Attendant) with this goal in mind. Andrew had many wonderful qualities and touched many people's lives. In addition to being determined, persistent, courageous, hard-working and honest, Andrew was compassionate, empathetic, creative, and fun-loving. To say he has touched and impacted many people's lives and futures would be an understatement. On his mother's side Andrew is pre-deceased by his cherished grandmother and grandfather, Anne and Amby LaBerge and leaves behind his mother's brothers - Dan (Linda), Bill (Margo), Mike (Jerry-Lynn), Claude (Anne) and several cousins including Melanie (David), Jonathan (mother Dorothy), Jaclyn and Danny (mother Janna), Jessica, (John-William), and Erin. On his step-father's side Andrew is pre-deceased by his step-grandfather, Gerald J. LeBlanc and is survived by his step-grandmother and step-grandfather, Phyllis and Lionel Davis; step-uncle, Brian; and step-aunt Karen (Matt). On his father's side Andrew is pre-deceased by his grandfather Elmer Wright and is survived by his grandmother Germaine Wright; half-sisters Kellie-Anne Brown (Anthony) and Andrea Landry (Jason); half-brother Christopher Wright (Jodie); several aunts and uncles - Diane Lanteigne (Don), Ellen Wright, Janet Wright, Mike Wright (Bernice), Gordon Wright, Paul Wright; niece Lisa and nephews Caleb, Christian, and Alex.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The family welcomes and encourages those who knew Andrew to stop by to let them know how you knew Andrew and how he touched your life. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Andrew's life will be held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 11 William Street, Fredericton on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 12 Noon with Father John Jennings as celebrant. A reception will follow in the church hall.
