Joseph Leger
1917 - 2010 - Shediac Bridge - Joseph A. Leger, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Moncton Veterans Health Centre on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Born in Middle Sackville, NB on August 12, 1917, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Délima (LeBlanc) Leger. He lived most of his adult life in Shediac Bridge and belonged to the Grande-Digue Parish until 1994. Jos served overseas for five years during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Engineer Corps and was a former member of the Canadian Legion in Shediac. Jos leaves his loving wife, Alice (Fougère); two daughters, Linda LeBlanc (André), Helen Leger (Wendell White), three foster children: Maria Goguen, Jeanine Aldsworth (Ron), and Rita Cormier; one sister, Diana Gallant (late Amédée); three grandchildren, Joey, Marc and Luc (Joanie). He was predeceased by one foster child, Thérèse; three sisters, Anita, Marguerite, Marie; and six brothers, Ernie, Amédée, Alban, Philippe, Leon and Tilmon.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, November 2nd from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 3rd at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue at 11 am. No visitations on Wednesday morning. Donations to the Salvation Army or War Amputees of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
