Kenneth H. M. Stairs of Temperance Vale, NB passed away November 3, 2010 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Kenneth was born at Pinder, York County, NB in 1931, a son of the late Clifford and Eva (Hagerman) Stairs. Kenneth began work as a teamster then later was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was an affiliate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Millville Branch 59. Kenneth enjoyed playing darts, both at the Legion and in other leagues. He is survived by his wife, Ella D. (Cole) Stairs; a son, Russell Stairs, at home; a brother, Howard Stairs (Priscilla), Fredericton, NB; special people to Kenneth, Dale and Pedelia and sons Damian and Alexander, Danny and Christie and son Gordon, Marie and Tony and daughters Allyson and Kaitlyn, Jeannie, Lorne and Audrey; two aunts, Rita Cummings, Meductic, NB and Mavis Hagerman, Zealand, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by a sister, Laurene Wells and a brother, Lloyd Stairs.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Temperance Vale, NB.
