It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother grandmother and sister Margaret Ann Hall, a former North Sydney resident, on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the MacGillivray Guest Home in Sydney.
Born in Port Hood Inverness County, she was the daughter of the late Alec and Christina (MacDonald) MacDougall.
She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, North Sydney. She helped with lunch at the Gannon Road School for a period of time and at one time was a nurse’s aid at St. Joseph Hospital in Toronto.
She is survived by five daughters, RoseMarie (Gary) McGean, North Sydney, Joan (Frank) Potter, Madock, Ont., Mary (Ron) Doucette, Holland Center, Ont., Christina (Sam) Goldberg, Hudson, Ont., Shirley (Dave) Franks, Mississauga Ont.; seven sons, Lionel (Patricia) Hall, Innisfil, Ont., Winston Hall, North Sydney, Paul (Mary) Hall, Coehill, Ont., David (Glenna) Hall, Northbrook, Ont., Donald (Emily) Hall, Bramalea, Ont., John Michael Hall, Etobicoke, Ont., Larry (Isabelle) Hall, Etoicoke, Ont.; sister, Jane (Dr. Gordon) Webb, Hot Springs, Ariz., brothers, Kenneth and Joe MacDougall, both of Sydney Mines; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces throughout Cape Breton, her extended family at the MacGillivray Guest Home.
She was predeceased by husband, John Lawrence Hall, son, William, brothers, Alec, Donald, Dan and Roddie, sisters, Sarah O’Quinn, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Jessome and Annie Mae Peck.
Visitation for Margaret will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 19 at the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St. North Sydney. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
