It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Dora G. Gove, age 95, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in LaPoile, Nfld., Dora was the daughter of the late William and Maria (Purchase) Vautier.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church and through the years was very active in the A.C.W., the Alder Guild and the knitting club.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Dora is survived by her daughter, Lois (Gary) Ross, North Sydney and their children, Neil (Allison) Ross, Oakville and daughter, Nicole (Jeff) Ross-Winstanley, Burlington and three great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Owen and Lily Dora and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Dora was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Gove and daughter, Elaine; her five sisters, Julie, Harriet, Jessie, Nellie, Elsie and brother, Stanley.
There will be no visitation. A family service for Dora will be held in Burlington, Ont. and burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney in the spring.
Arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church or Northside Community Guest Home Foundation, 11 Queen St., North Sydney, B2A 1A2.
