It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Jo Meaney announce her passing at Corner Brook Interfaith Home on June 17, 2009, at the age of 91 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Robert (Ellen) of Corner Brook, Jerome (Helen) of Pasadena, Catherine of Corner Brook, Joan Gilley of Deer Lake and Anne Marie (Basil) Ledrew of Corner Brook; ten grandchildren: Joanne, Rob (Michelle), Jerry (Penny), Joe (Crystal), Michael (Tamara), Catherine (Bruce), Stephanie, Dave, Steve and Janine; five great- grandchildren: Erin, Jordan, Brianna, Gracie and Kaleigh; sister-in-law, Rita of Renews; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Meaney (2002); parents, Patrick and Grace Boland; brothers: James and Patrick (Jenny) of Renews; sisters: Mary (Fred) of Admirals Cove, Margaret (Matthew) of Renews and Angela (Charles) of Cape Broyle; son-in-law, James Gilley of Deer Lake. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 7-9 p.m.; Friday, June 19, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Mount Bernard Ave. with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gracefully accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
