It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of wife, mother and grandmother Sadie, which occurred Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Walsh) MacGillivary.
Sadie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence; children, Donnie (Marilyn), John James (Mary), Marie (Bart) Boutilier, Delores (Danny) MacKay, Karen (Cecil) MacNeil, Brenda (John) Poirier and Linda McNeil; brothers, James (Bernadette), Pius (Rose) and Ralph; sisters, May Graham and Cecelia MacGillivary; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
She was predeceased by daughter, Margie and brothers, twin Peter, John, Danny, Joey, Naish and Charlie.
Visitation today (Friday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection Saturday, 10 a.m. in St. Leo’s Church. Rev. Leo Boone officiating.
Donations in Sadie’s memory are suggested to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or charity of choice.
