Edna May (Merchant) Mingo

Mingo, Edna May (Merchant), Truro, wife of the late Roy Mingo, passed peacefully into heaven on Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro, surrounded by her loving family. Mom was born in St. John’s, Nfld. in 1918 and settled in Sydney NS at the age of nine. During the war she relocated with her family to Kemptown and met our Dad soon after. Mom was a member of the Peoples Church where she found great joy in meeting together with her brothers and sisters in Christ. Mom is survived by her brother, Ronald (Joyce) Merchant, Trenton; sons, Ronnie (Linda), Greenfield; Charlie (Joan), Calgary; her daughters, Leona, Truro; Connie (Kelvin) Lynch, Fredericton; Jeanetta, Truro; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; her parents, John and Jean (Hewitt) Merchant; brothers, Russell, Gordon, David and William; sister, Irene Morton and her beloved babies Winston and Gloria. No visitation will be held. Funeral service will be held today at 2pm in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Pastor Ches MacKenzie officiating with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Kemptown Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
