Peacefully at the Western Hospital Alberton with her family by her side on Thursday, June 18, 2009, of Bellena Elizabeth Meggison of the Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence, Alberton, age 87 years. Beloved wife of the late John Meggison. Born in O’Leary on July 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dorcas (nee Costain) Shaw. Cherished mother to Herb (Jean) of Brooklyn, Marliyn (Errol) Strang of Mill River East. Loving grandmother to Allan (Leanne) Meggison, Dawna (Ronnie) Hagen, Tammy Meggison, Melissa Strang, John-Rosss Strang. Dear great-grandmother to Samantha, Lexi, Sarah, Aleisha and Evan. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bessie Shaw of Maplewood Manor. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Oliver, Elmer (late Verna) and Laura (late William) Meggison. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday afternoon from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. John A.C. Wilson officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery Alberton. If so desired, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Gordon Memorial United Church Building fund would be gratefully appeciated.
