The death of M. Audrey Chlow occurred at her residence at Risteen’s Landing, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Born in Summerside, PE she was the daughter of the late Alban and Ella (Malone) Gillis and wife of the late Harold Chlow. When Audrey’s children were growing up the house was always filled with teenagers and everyone was made to feel at home. Of course, if you were one of the many people welcomed into her house, you would know that you could never leave with an empty belly. There were always enough fresh baked goods to go around. Audrey also had a unique style of discipline. Anytime her family decided to “act up,” she would put her musical skills on the piano, organ or guitar to work and everyone had to partake in the singing. She will be sadly missed by her children, Roger Chlow (Vera) of Moncton, NB, Beverley Doman (Bill) of Miramichi, NB, Barbara Swyer of Fredericton, NB, Sharon Smith (Earl) of Silverwood, NB and John Chlow (Bonita) of Charlottetown, PE; her sister, Doreen Loewy of Moncton, NB; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the people who gave their mother the extra special care over the last number of years especially Margie, Susan, Margaret, Phyllis, Heidi, Mary, Marie and Norma.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Trzop officiating. Interment will follow in the Hermitage Cemetery.
