February 4th, 1915 – November 11th, 2010 - While resting comfortably Ann Gertrude Butler of Rothesay, New Brunswick passed away after a long fulfilling life on Thursday November 11, 2010 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Ambrose Butler, her loving daughter Beth (Butler) Stevenson and granddaughter Sara Jane Stevenson, both of Indiana. Daughter of Thomas Edward and Annie (Nugent) Walsh, she was the twin sister of Geraldine Swart (Colorado), and sister of Margaret Walsh (predeceased), William Walsh (Joan) and Olive Cogger (Frank). She had a special relationship with her devoted daughter Jane Ann (Butler) Barbour (predeceased by husband Andy), and her loving and thoughtful son-in-law and wife Peter and Patti Stevenson (Newburgh, Indiana). Gertrude (or Nana to family) was grandmother of Mary Beth Barbour (Toronto), Drew (and Michelle) Barbour (Toronto), Dr. Margo Stevenson (and Eric) Herron (Springfield, Illinois) and great-grandmother to Ainsley, Grace, and Anders Barbour and Max Herron, the newest addition to the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 12 noon, followed by a reception at Shadow Lawn, Rothesay NB.
