Peacefully at the Garden Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, of John J. Rioux of Charlottetown, formerly of Bathurst, N.B., age 100 years. Loving husband to Rachel (nee Sirois) Rioux of Mont-Joli, Québec. Loving father of his two daughters, Gisèle (Dr. José N. Matta) of Arizona and Suzanne, formerly of Montreal; and of his three sons, Guy, Serge Donald of Québec and Andre (Eileen Murphy) of Summerside. He is sadly missed by his two grandsons, Sebastien of Montréal and Philip of Edmonton, AB. Also surviving are his sisters, Agnès, Antoinette (Louis Aubé), Thérèse, Bathurst; and Elzire, Moncton; and his brothers, Napoléon (Zita Doucette), Moncton; Cléophas (Evelyn), Charlottetown; and Roland, Fredericton, N.B. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Margaret Cripps, St. John, N.B.; Thérèse Langlois, Québec; Therese Belland, Québec; by his brother-in-law, Paul Sirois (Jeannine Marcheterre) of Quebec and a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment later in Bathurst, N.B.
